Sleeping Around With Married Women\u2013Prof. Oquaye Report Says Moral Scandals Crippled NPP Base<\/h2>\n

When your own party report admits your candidates were sleeping around with married women, you know the damage was deep.<\/p>\n

According to page 27 of the Prof. Mike Oquaye post-election report, shared by Nii Kpakpo Samoa Addo, moral scandals among parliamentary candidates and appointees had a devastating effect on party morale.<\/p>\n

\u201c70% of 42 female NPP members under 35 polled\u2026 viewed the parliamentary candidate as \u2018sleeping around with married women.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

One case in the Western Region involved a candidate having an affair with a constituency executive\u2019s wife.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt repeatedly came up as a factor that drove apathy within the party.\u201d<\/p>\n

The report warns that while some may dismiss such issues as gossip, they had real electoral consequences \u2014 weakening regional support and alienating core organizers, especially women.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe committee was drawn to at least six high-profile appointees\u2026 implicated in scandals involving extramarital affairs\u2026 and misuse of campaign funds to finance romantic liaisons.\u201d<\/p>\n

In short, the NPP\u2019s defeat wasn\u2019t just policy failure, it was a failure of character.<\/p>\n
