Sudan national team head coach James Kwasi Appiah has confirmed reports that he is yet to resume camp with the team due to unpaid wages.<\/p>\n

The coach acknowledged that his payments have been delayed and revealed that he had already met with the Sudanese Ambassador in Ghana to resolve the issue.<\/p>\n

Additionally, he stated that his delay was partly due to his decision to attend the funeral of late Asante Kotoko fan, Yaw Frimpong (Pooley).<\/p>\n

“Actually, I delayed because of Pooley’s funeral. They were also delaying some payments, but I’ve met their ambassador, so hopefully, I’ll leave tomorrow,” he told Ghana Sports Page.<\/p>\n

Kwasi Appiah has been in Ghana since leading Sudan to AFCON qualification in November 2024.<\/p>\n

The former Black Stars coach was initially expected to regroup with his players earlier in preparation for their 2026 World Cup qualifiers. <\/p>\n

Sudan, who have been in good form under the Ghanaian coach, will face Senegal and South Sudan in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.<\/p>\n
