A former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Ayensuano, Samuel Ayeh-Paye, has narrated how an elderly woman he offered GH\u00a250 to go and vote in the 2024 election rejected his offer.<\/p>\n

Ayeh-Paye, in a viral video clip from a recent interview on Peace FM, said that he was shocked to the core when the woman rejected the offer.<\/p>\n

He said that the incident was the 1st time someone had rejected an offer from him to go and vote.<\/p>\n

He indicated that the rejection of monetary incentives and the demands for money before voting were signs of how the people of Ghana were unhappy with the NPP government led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was giving people money to go and vote\u2026 Nana, to my surprise, for the first time in my history, a voter rejected the GH\u00a250 I was giving her to go and vote. The voter said, \u2018I am not going to take the money because I would not vote for you.\u2019 She did not take the money and did not go and vote.<\/p>\n

\u201c… People said they were not going to vote. Some said they wanted money before going to vote. Others said they were not going to take the money because they would not vote. This was where the issues had gotten to,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cA villager whom I gave GH\u00a250 said that she was not going to take it because she would not vote. She was an elderly woman.\u201d<\/p>\n

The former Ayensuano MP pointed out that the actions of Ghanaians during the 2024 election must serve as a lesson to his party when they return to power again.<\/p>\n
