\n\t\tJoseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa, popularly called Mohbad, has expressed his frustrations regarding his relationship with Mohbad\u2019s wife and son, as well as the handling of the legal proceedings surrounding his son\u2019s death.\n\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\tIn an interview with Silverbird TV aired on Friday, Aloba stated that he has not seen Mohbad\u2019s wife, Wunmi, or their son, Liam, since his son\u2019s passing, adding that it was not his responsibility to go to them.\n\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\tHe said, \u201cI\u2019ve not seen Mohbad\u2019s wife and son since his death. Even my son, Adura, none of them came to me. They know where I\u2019m living. They are supposed to come to me. The way I\u2019m looking at things, they are supposed to bring that child to me and say, \u2018This is your grandson.\u201d\n\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\tHe also insisted on a DNA test to confirm the child\u2019s paternity, expressing his doubts over Mohbad being the father of the child, saying, \u201cI demanded DNA; they are supposed to say, \u2018Daddy, do it at your convenient time,\u2019 but they have been hiding it. So, it became a public matter. Let the court have the final say concerning it. I\u2019ll know exactly what to do from there.\u201d\n\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\tWhen asked if the child looks like Mohbad to him, Aloba vehemently replied, \u201cNo, no, no. With what I\u2019m seeing, he\u2019s not. If the DNA says he is, it\u2019s acceptable.\u201d\n\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\tAloba went on to state that his son, Adura, who lived with Mohbad, has also distanced himself and has not reached out to him or visited him since the incident.\n\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\u201cAdura is now 22 years old, but he never called me or came to my house since his brother\u2019s death. It\u2019s like some people are covering him. We used to be together, but something separated us after Mohbad\u2019s death.\n\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\u201cAdura is supposed to fill me in on exactly what happened to his brother; they were living in the same house. He is supposed to know,\u201d Aloba stated.\n\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\tSpeaking on the investigation into Mohbad\u2019s death, Aloba criticised the delay in the coroner\u2019s inquest and urged the Lagos State government to reopen it.\n\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\u201cThe issue is delay, and delay results in denial. I appreciate the people working with me, but unfortunately, I\u2019m not satisfied with the way the case is going now,\u201d he said.\n\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\tAloba further revealed that a private autopsy had been conducted but the results could not be presented until the coroner\u2019s inquest was reopened.\n\t<\/p>\n

\n\t\tHe said, \u201cThe coroner inquest was delayed, so I want to appeal to the Lagos state government to reopen the coroner inquest. There are a lot of things we should be doing now. We have done the private autopsy, but I cannot present the result now until the coroner is opened.\n\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\u201cI, myself, have not witnessed the result. The order was given to us from the court, so it is not something they will present to me. They need to present it to the court, but the court was closed.\n\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\t\u201cI paid for it, but I can\u2019t demand for the result. When I asked him, he said how is he going to present it in the court when they ask him if anybody has witnessed the result.\u201d\n\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\tPUNCH reports that a private autopsy and toxicology conducted by the family of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, to determine the cause of his death is ready.\n\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\tThis development was after the previous autopsy conducted by the Lagos State Government was declared inconclusive and rejected by the family. Hence, the
Coroner\u2019s Court sitting in the Ikorodu area of the state granted the family permission to conduct an independent autopsy and toxicology test on Mohbad.\n\t<\/p>\n
\n\t\tA group of concerned citizens, The Critical Thinkers Group, also called for the reopening of the coroner\u2019s inquest into the death of the singer, saying that the suspension of the inquest had raised concerns while prolonging the search for answers about the singer\u2019s death.\n\t<\/p>\n
