The Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, has indicated that the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) prospects in the Kpandai parliamentary rerun will largely depend on how well it maintains internal unity, even as the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) seeks to capitalise on its incumbency advantage.
Speaking on JoyNews on Monday, December 15, he noted that the NDC is likely to deploy state machinery in the rerun, a factor he said could influence voter behaviour, particularly in communities with a high number of voters without formal education.
According to him, such voter dynamics make parts of the electorate vulnerable to inducement, placing additional responsibility on the NPP candidate, Matthew Nyindam, to consolidate his support base and prevent internal divisions within the party.
Mr Dankwah observed that while the NDC appears to be grappling with internal disagreements over voter allegiance in Kpandai, the NPP currently enjoys a more solid and unified front behind its candidate. He stressed that sustaining this unity and ensuring strong voter turnout will be critical for the opposition party’s chances.

“If the NPP is to win, they must hold themselves together, remain united and advise their supporters to come out and vote,” he stated.
His comments follow the release of a new Global InfoAnalytics poll ahead of the rerun, which places Mr Nyindam marginally in the lead. The survey, published on Sunday, December 14, 2025, projects the NPP candidate at 50% of voter support.
The NDC candidate, Daniel Nsala Wakpal, is shown to be close behind with 46%, while the independent candidate, Donkor Eric Nipani, is projected to secure 1% of the votes. About 3 per cent of respondents remain undecided.
Although the race remains tight, the poll gives the NPP a narrow advantage, which falls within a ±3.9% margin of error, suggesting that the outcome of the Kpandai rerun will largely be determined by party cohesion and voter turnout.
