The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has announced plans to retire from Parliament in the near future, urging constituents interested in representing the area to prepare to take up the mantle.
The fourth- term Member of Parliament who doubles as the Foreign Affairs Minister says adequate resources have been channeled into producing aeronautical engineers, lawyers and legislators to maintain the high standards set for the constituency.
He made this known during the presentation of money to fifty students at Juapong in the North Tongu constituency under the MPs scholarship scheme.
“We are producing engineers, lawyers, aeronautical engineers, future MPs who will be taking over from me because I will be retiring soon. Also, future presidents and future teachers who will come and help us to maintain the high standards we are laying over here.”
He encouraged beneficiaries to remain focused and committed to excellence, the North Tongu MP expressed pride in supporting the educational aspirations of students in the constituency.
“Keep making me proud. I am always excited to hand out these scholarships,” he added.
