Eliesse Ben Seghir (20, Morocco)
In the eyes of many football experts, Ben Seghir is the future of Morocco’s national team.
An attacking player full of creativity and pace, the Bayer Leverkusen forward is one of the stars to watch at AFCON 2025.
In 2024, Seghir showcased his skills at the Olympic Games, dazzling with his ability to navigate tight spaces using deft touches and close control—truly a delight to watch.
Born in Saint-Tropez, France, Seghir represented his birth country at every youth level from U16 to U19 before switching allegiance to Morocco in 2024. The precocious talent can operate on the left side of midfield or attack. By 17, he was already playing top-flight football and scoring in France; by 19, he had already found the net in the Champions League.
He impressed at the Paris 2024 Olympics and carried that promise into a move from Monaco to Bayer Leverkusen.
At just 20, Seghir has already earned 16 caps for Morocco, scoring three goals—two of which came against the Central African Republic in AFCON qualifiers.
