The Eastern North Regional Police Command has arrested three persons and retrieved suspected narcotic drugs and ammunition following a successful intelligence-led operation in Kwahu Nkwatia in the Eastern Region.
The operation, carried out on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, targeted known drug peddling spots and criminal hideouts within Nkwatia Township and its surrounding communities.

At Kwayeano, a suburb of Nkwatia, police conducted a cordon-and-search exercise, which led to the recovery of forty-six wraps of dried leaves suspected to be narcotic drugs.

The team later moved to an estate near the Nkwatia SDA School, where two suspects—Kwame Asomani, 27, and Kwasi Dwamena, 25—were arrested in possession of quantities of dried leaves believed to be narcotic substances.
In a separate operation at Aduamoah, police arrested a third suspect, Kwadwo Ofori, 45, for allegedly possessing ten rounds of BB ammunition without lawful authority.
All three suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations, while the recovered exhibits have been secured pending forensic analysis.
The Police Command says investigations are ongoing and the suspects will be arraigned before court once investigations are concluded.
