The government is considering the establishment of an agricultural college in the Builsa South District of the Upper East Region as part of efforts to expand access to technical and agricultural education.
This was disclosed by the Deputy Minister for Education and Member of Parliament for Builsa South, Dr. Clement Apaak, during the annual Feok Festival held in Sandema on December 19, 2025.
Addressing traditional leaders and residents at the event, Dr. Apaak said the proposed institution would serve the broader Builsa area and support the development of agriculture in the region.
He explained that recent administrative changes, which place agricultural colleges under the Ministry of Education, have created opportunities to expand such institutions across the country.
“As Deputy Minister for Education, and considering that agricultural colleges are now under the Ministry of Education, I can assure you that Buluk will get an agricultural college, to be located in Builsa South,” he stated.
Dr. Apaak noted that the initiative aligns with the government’s broader agenda to strengthen agricultural training, boost food security and create employment opportunities for young people, particularly in rural communities.
