The Central East Regional Police Command has conducted a series of intelligence-led anti-crime swoop operations across parts of the Kasoa enclave, leading to the arrest of 33 suspects and the impounding of 45 motorbikes.

The operations, which formed part of efforts to clamp down on criminal activities before, during, and after the festive season, were carried out within the Kasoa Old Market, Awutu Breku, Gomoa Buduata, Senya Breku, and surrounding communities.

According to a press release by the Police dated December 19, 2025, the targeted swoops took place in the early hours of December 16 and 17, 2025. During the exercise, some of the suspects were found in possession of substances suspected to be Indian hemp, as well as quantities of tramadol.

The police also retrieved one toy gun during the operation. All 45 motorbikes impounded are currently undergoing verification and documentation checks, while the arrested suspects are being screened to aid ongoing investigations. Those found culpable will be put before court to face justice.

Meanwhile, the Regional Police Command has urged the general public to observe key security precautions during the festive season, including avoiding the carrying of large sums of money, moving in the company of others especially at odd hours, complying with the use of crash helmets by motorbike riders, avoiding drunk driving and overspeeding, and refraining from moving alone in secluded areas.

The Command expressed appreciation to stakeholders and residents within the region for their cooperation in protecting life and property and maintaining law and order throughout the year. It also commended police officers in the region for their unwavering commitment to effective policing.

The Central East Regional Police Command assured the public of its preparedness to ensure a crime-free festive period and warned that individuals who engage in criminal activities will be arrested and made to face the full rigours of the law.
