The Ghana High Commission has reaffirmed its commitment to staff welfare by partnering the Ghanaian Doctors and Dentists Association UK to organise a health workshop aimed at promoting physical and mental wellbeing among its personnel.

The workshop, held on December 17, formed part of the Mission’s broader efforts to encourage preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyle choices among staff, as it seeks to improve productivity and overall service delivery.

Medical professionals from the Ghanaian Doctors and Dentists Association UK engaged participants on key health concerns, offering practical guidance on maintaining both physical fitness and mental balance. Staff were encouraged to adopt proactive approaches to wellbeing in their professional and personal lives.

Addressing the session, the High Commissioner, Mrs Sabah Zita Benson, expressed appreciation to the association for its continued support to the Mission and the wider Ghanaian community in the United Kingdom.

“We are grateful for your unwavering commitment to the health of our staff and the wider Ghanaian diaspora,” she said, urging staff to “take deliberate steps to prioritise both their physical and mental wellbeing.”

Mrs Benson said the High Commission was determined to sustain and expand the initiative, noting that the benefits of preventive healthcare extended beyond the workplace.

“Our goal is to scale up this programme and extend similar health workshops to Ghanaian community groups across the UK,” she stated, adding that a healthy workforce was essential for productivity and effective service delivery.
