AG to update Ghanaians on Ofori-Atta case, cybercrime recoveries today

Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dr Dominic Ayine, will return to the Government Accountability Series on Thursday, December 18, with a major briefing on developments in the case involving former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.

Dr Ayine will also report on significant recoveries achieved in the government’s fight against cybercrime.

The briefing is expected to provide clarity on the status of legal proceedings against the former Finance Minister, while outlining actions taken by the state to safeguard public resources and uphold accountability. The session forms part of the government’s broader effort to keep citizens informed about high-profile cases and enforcement outcomes.

In a Facebook post, Government Communications Minister Felix Kwakye Ofosu said the update would focus on “facts, progress, and outcomes,” emphasizing that the public deserves transparency on matters of national interest.

“This is about accountability and restoring confidence in the justice system,” he noted.

On cybercrime, Mr Kwakye Ofosu highlighted that the state has made “substantial recoveries” through investigations and prosecutions. He added that the government remains committed to strengthening legal and institutional measures to combat digital fraud.

“We are seeing real results, and we will continue to protect the public purse and citizens from cybercriminal activity,” he assured.
