Nkyinkyim Band, one of Ghana’s most vibrant live music groups, has promised an unforgettable Christmas Eve performance, teasing a major surprise for patrons at the 2025 Citiuation event scheduled for December 24 at Ghud Park, Accra.
The band made the revelation during an appearance on the Citi Breakfast Show on Monday, December 15, 2025, where members expressed excitement about returning to one of the country’s most anticipated festive events.
“We were at the 2024 edition, and it was amazing, so there was no way we were going to miss this one. We have performed at the event for three years now. Even if we weren’t invited, we were going to invite ourselves,” Kpodo, a member of the band, told host Bernard Avle, sparking laughter and excitement in the studio.
He hinted at a special performance twist awaiting patrons, revealing that the band had already secured their tables for the show.
“We have a surprise for everyone who will be at Ghud Park on December 24, but we can’t reveal it here,” he said, further heightening anticipation.
To give listeners a taste of what lies ahead, Nkyinkyim Band lit up the Citi Breakfast Show studio with a rousing live performance, delivering spirited renditions of classic highlife songs.
The medley celebrated timeless hits from some of Ghana’s greatest music legends, including Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, C.K. Mann, Ben Brako, Ofori Amponsah, Daddy Lumba, Amakye Dede, and others.
