Daniel Nsala Wakpal, the 2024 parliamentary candidate for Kpandai on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has filed a contempt suit against the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa for allegedly failing to comply with a High Court order.
According to court documents, Justice Emmanuel Bart-Plange Brew of the High Court, on November 24, 2025, ordered a rerun of the Kpandai Constituency parliamentary election within 30 days. The order was formally served on the EC Chair on November 25, 2025.
In an affidavit sworn before a Commissioner for Oaths in Accra, Wakpal stated that despite being served, the EC Chair has shown no sign of implementing the court’s directive.
He described the failure to act on the order as a deliberate disregard for the High Court and an interference with the due administration of justice.

Wakpal’s legal team argues that such conduct constitutes contempt of court, as it directly contradicts an order issued by a competent judicial authority. The affidavit calls for the EC Chair to be held accountable for failing to adhere to the court’s ruling.
