Maxwell Woledzi pens emotional farewell message to Fredrikstad after Nashville move – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results

Ghanaian defender Maxwell Woledzi has said his final goodbyes to Norwegian club Fredrikstad FK following his move to the MLS to join Nashville SC.

The 24-year-old signed a deal to join the MLS outfit through to 2028, with the option of a further year. He will occupy the international roster spot at Nashville.

Having enjoyed a successful two-and-a-half year spell in Norway, an emotional Woledzi penned a heartfelt message to Fredrikstad ahead of his trip to the United States.

He posted on Instagram: “I needed time to process what playing for FFK in Fredrikstad truly meant to me.

“Two and half years, a promotion to Eliteserien, A cup final victory, European nights, and memories I will carry with me forever.

“From summer 2023 until winter 2025, to all my teammates, coaches and administrators I want to say that I enjoyed every moment with you all. I am proud of what we built together. Thank you all for standing with me through every high and low. Thank you for the friendship.

“And to the Fans, the Supporters and the City since day one I have experienced the chant: EN FOR ALLE og ALLE FOR EN. I have felt that support from the beginning, on and off the pitch. You gave me more than football. You gave me a home and I leave as part of the FFK family.

“Just make sure you keep on supporting your favourite player and my new home Nashville . We accept double love and we offer country music. That’s why they call us THE MUSIC CITY.

“Forever grateful. MW22.”

During his time at Fredrikstad, Woledzi made 88 appearances across all competitions and was named the club’s best player in 2025.
