National and Regional Bodies to attend Bawku Mediation Report handover

The formal presentation of the Bawku Mediation Report to President John Dramani Mahama will take place at the Jubilee House in Accra on Thursday, 11th December 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

Key national bodies, including the National Peace Council, Christian Council, Office of the National Chief Imam, Catholic Secretariat, and other stakeholders, have been invited to the event. Development partners such as the UNDP, the British High Commissioner, as well as selected Ministers, the Upper East Minister, and the North East Minister, will also be in attendance.

Representatives from the Upper East Regional House of Chiefs and the Coordinator for National Security have similarly been invited.

The presentation marks a significant milestone in the national initiative, led by His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to restore lasting peace, stability, and reconciliation in Bawku and its surrounding communities.

The mediation process involved extensive consultations and high-level engagement, aiming to end years of conflict and strengthen social cohesion in the area.

The invitation highlights that the presence of religious bodies, government officials, development partners, and regional leaders reflects a unified national commitment to sustainable peacebuilding efforts.

The Presidency described the occasion as one of national significance and looks forward to welcoming all invited stakeholders for the formal handover of the report.
