Adutwum vows to raise Ghana’s life expectancy to 75

New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, has announced that a central pillar of his vision for Ghana is the introduction of a comprehensive policy framework aimed at significantly increasing the life expectancy of citizens.

Addressing supporters during his campaign tour of the Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency in the Ashanti Region on Tuesday, November 25, he expressed grave concern over the rising cases of youth mortality across the country.

He attributed the trend to what he described as a weak national health system and the lack of targeted government policies to promote long, healthy living.

Dr. Adutwum reaffirmed his commitment to tackling poverty and improving the socio-economic well-being of Ghanaians. As part of his long-term development agenda, he pledged to champion reforms that would enable the country to surpass an average life expectancy of 70 years, stressing that national progress depends on a healthy, productive population.

“Youth mortality has become alarmingly rampant, and any president who is not troubled by this crisis should reconsider their priorities. That is why we intend to introduce a policy aimed at ensuring that no one dies before the age of 75. This is achievable, and similar interventions have been implemented successfully in countries like Brazil,” he said.
