2,664 deceased persons in NPP Delegates Album

The campaign team for the New Patriotic Party presidential aspirant Kennedy Agyapong has called for a swift rectification of errors in the Provisional Delegates Album ahead of the presidential primaries in January 2026.

In a statement signed by the campaign administrator, Charles Cromwell Bissue, on November 22, 2025, the campaign team petitioned the NPP’s presidential elections committee over what it has identified as discrepancies in the album.

The team stated that after an audit of the constituency albums nationwide, in which it had deployed two agents per constituency, it noticed several errors in the albums which had not been corrected.

“A nationwide audit of constituency albums was undertaken across all 276 constituencies, during which our campaign deployed two agents per constituency and duly submitted discrepancy forms for consideration.

“Regrettably, our scrutiny of the updated album reveals that names of deceased persons and other ineligible entries remain, indicating that certain constituency-level corrections were not incorporated into the final compilation,” it stated.

To aid the PEC in its efforts, the team said it had compiled a list of 2,664 deceased persons and had forwarded it to the body for consideration and removal.

“We have compiled a consolidated list of 2,664 deceased persons whose names still appear in the album. This list is attached for your review and necessary action,” the statement added.

The team acknowledged the PEC’s assurance of a committee set up to rectify such issues but urged the body to take action itself due to time constraints.

“We noted PEC’s assurance that a committee has been established to resolve these issues. While we appreciate this intervention, time is of the essence.

“All discrepancy forms currently lie in the bosom of PEC, and we respectfully request that the required corrections be carried out promptly to allow for the swift removal of all ineligible names and the re-issuance of a corrected Provisional Delegates Album,” the statement said.

This statement comes as the NPP gears up for its presidential primary elections to determine the flagbearer for the party ahead of the 2028 General Elections.

Kennedy Agyapong is vying for the position alongside former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Kwabena Agyapong, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, and Dr Bryan Acheampong.
