A circulating video has sparked massive outrage and criticism in Ghana, showing three young men handing a lit cigarette to a toddler.
The video, which is rapidly gaining attention, shows the toddler, a young girl, crying and coughing while standing in front of the men.

A third person, who was recording the incident, could be heard encouraging the child to smoke the cigarette.
The group can be seen laughing mockingly when the toddler places the cigarette in her mouth, after which the person who handed it to her quickly snatches it back.
The disturbing video has since ignited public outrage, with many calling on the Ghana Police Service to apprehend the individuals involved.
Condemning the act, some commentators noted that the behaviour of the young men could have put the child at risk and should be thoroughly investigated. Concerns were also raised about potential parental negligence, with calls for caregivers to be more vigilant about their children’s safety.

As of the time of filing this report, the Ghana Police Service had not yet responded to the incident.
