Ghana FA provides update an on Francis Abu’s injury after a successful surgery

The Ghana Football Association and the Black Stars team doctors have provided an update for Francis Abu’s injury after the player undergone successful surgery yesterday, Saturday November 15th, 2025.

Following the incident during the game between Ghana and Japan, where Abu Francis suffered a fracture of two bones, the Ghana Football Association, through the efforts of Dr. Prince Pambo, Black Stars head of medical, his colleagues from Toulouse FC and the surgical team in Japan, is happy to inform the public that Francis Abu has successfully undergone surgery, and the acute phase of his rehabilitation has commenced.

According to Ghana Football Association, the management team of the Black Stars, and the technical team have agreed to let one physiotherapist stay with the player to help him with his intensive physiotherapy sessions during this acute phase of his rehabilitation.

There are also plans for a senior member of the technical team to accompany the player to his home base in France after he is discharged from the Toyota Memorial Hospital where the surgery took place. The Ghana Football Association is grateful to everyone who supported us in this journey.

We are particularly grateful to the Black Stars management, and the technical team for their support during these last few days and will continue to count on their support during the rehabilitation process in our quest to ensure that the player returns to full fitness.

The Black Stars will have its final friendly game on Tuesday against another Asian Giants, South Korea.
