Nkroful (W/R) Nov 16, GNA – The Ellembelle District Assembly is set to build a 24-Hour Economy Market Centre  at Aiyinasi as part of government’s flagship 24-Hour economic policy to boost trade and commerce in the area.

In addition, four other market centres are to be built at Nralekyi, Nralekpole, Anokyi and Atuabo all in the Ellembelle District.

Mr Theophilus Tamatey-Agbo, District Planning Officer of Ellembelle, announced this at a public hearing on  the Medium Term Development Plan from 2026 to 2029 at Nkroful in the Western Region.

The meeting afforded participants and stakeholders within the district, the opportunity to make inputs into the four-year development plan.

Mr Tamatey-Agbo said it was the intention of the Assembly to expand existing markets infrastructure and build modern markets to boost revenue derived from Internally Generated Funds to execute projects and spearhead development of the area.

Mr Joseph Armah Agyekum, District Chief Executive of Ellembelle in a speech read on his behalf,  said the Assembly would intensify its revenue mobilisation exercise to increase internal revenue to tackle projects.

He asked staff of the Assembly to work harder to achieve the aim of the decentralization process and ease the burden on central government.
