Channel One TV made a strong showing at this year’s Northern Ghana Journalists Awards, with two of its regional reporters picking up top honours at the ceremony in Tamale.
Mohammed Aminu M. Alabira, the station’s North East Regional Correspondent, was crowned Road Safety Reporter of the Year, while Shawana Yussif, Channel One TV’s Northern Bureau Chief, took home the award for Best Reporter in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH).
This year’s event, which celebrated exceptional journalism across the northern sector, was held under the theme “Bridging the Rural–Urban Education Gap: The Role of the Media.”
The ceremony brought together media professionals and development partners to recognise impactful storytelling and highlight the media’s vital role in driving community development.
