Dr Cassiel Ato Forson is the Minister of Finance
The Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has announced that government
is taking decisive to strengthen integrity, transparency and accountability in public sector.
Reading the 2026 Budget Statement in Parliament, he said the government has updated the National Anti-Corruption Action Plan through a participatory process involving civil-society organisations and development partners.

“In December 2025, Government will lay before Parliament a Conduct of Public
Officers Bill requiring senior public officials, including Ministers, Members of
Parliament and heads of state-owned enterprises, to publicly disclose assets
upon assumption of and exit from office, with a firm sanction’s regime for non
compliance.
These steps reaffirm our commitment to integrity and accountability in public service”, he noted.
Dr Forson also highlighted efforts to strengthen Ghana’s financial safeguards.
He noted that a Joint Action Plan on Illicit Financial Flows in the extractive sector, launched in October 2025, involves the Bank of Ghana, the Financial Intelligence Centre and law-enforcement agencies to protect the country’s natural-resource wealth.

“These initiatives are critical to safeguarding public resources, ensuring transparency, and protecting Ghana’s economic interests,” Dr Forson emphasised.
