Ghana’s female U-15 side continued their fine form at the ongoing WAFU B Girls Cup with another 2-0 victory over hosts Benin in the reverse fixture, completing a double over their opponents following an identical scoreline in the opening game.
Sarah Nyarko opened the scoring in the 14th minute, reacting quickest during a goalmouth scramble to give Ghana the early lead. The hosts responded with several dangerous attacks, but goalkeeper Aishetu stood firm with key saves to preserve the advantage heading into halftime.
Benin came out stronger after the break, even finding the back of the net before being denied by an offside call. Ghana’s defence showed determination, producing crucial blocks as the hosts pressed for an equaliser.
Linda Owusu Ansah thought she had doubled the lead after rounding the goalkeeper, but her effort was ruled out for a foul. In added time, Latifa Musah sealed the win in the 92nd minute with a composed finish to make it 2-0.
The Black Princesses will face Nigeria in their final group match on Tuesday, November 11.
