In a Facebook post on Saturday, November 8, 2025, Ablakwa indicated that he, during the week, convened a meeting with partners involved in the project to review designs, analyse the feasibility report, and finalise stakeholder responsibilities.

The minister expressed gratitude to key stakeholders, including Togbui Adzongaga Amenya Fiti V, Paramount Chief of the Aflao Traditional Area; Ketu South MP and Minister for Tourism, Dzifa Gomashie; Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu; Chinese Ambassador, H.E. Tong Defa; Ketu South MCE, Nicholas Kwabla Worlachie; and technical partners for their collaboration.

The minister emphasised that construction is expected to begin as soon as President Mahama cuts the sod once final preparations are completed.
