Accra, Nov. 9, GNA-The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has extinguished a raging fire that razed part of a cluster of commercial stores at Achimota Abofu in Accra.
The Anyaa, National Headquarters, and Legon Fire Stations swiftly responded to a destress call at 1508 hours, with the first appliance arriving at 1529 hours.
Mr Desmond Ackah, the Head of Public Relations, confirming this to the press, said the fire was brought under control at 1756 hours and completely doused at 1812 hours without injuries.
He said that while several containers and their contents were destroyed, firefighters managed to salvage seven metal containers containing soft drinks, tissue papers, and nearby structures, thereby preventing further losses.
