The Akyemansa District House of Chiefs has officially launched its association, with President Daasebre Ofosu Kawbi Ayebiahwe, who is the Odauhene and doubles as the Chief of Akyem Etwereso, strongly urging traditional leaders to prioritise unity as the bedrock for accelerated development across their towns.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Daasebre Ayebiahwe emphasised that his primary objective as president is to cultivate strong bonds of togetherness among the traditional leaders.

He underscored the profound impact of unity, stating unequivocally that “unity will bring progress while division will hinder it.”

He further pledged the association’s unwavering support for any government committed to advancing the district’s development agenda and extended appreciation to past executives for their role in maintaining the organisation.

Echoing the call for solidarity, Akyem Kotoku Hemaa Nana Akua Asantewaa III expressed gratitude for the formation of the association, noting that such unity would forge “strong bonds between towns.”

She further implored leaders to demonstrate “truthfulness to their subjects” and to “share their blessings with their people,” promoting a spirit of generosity and accountability within their communities.

The grand vision for unity extended beyond the district. Justice Nana Berima Yaw Kodua Oppong, the Manrɛ Hene of Akyem Abuakwa State, speaking on behalf of the Okyenhene, conveyed the Okyenhene’s profound satisfaction with the new association.

He expressed optimism that this initiative would serve as a powerful catalyst to “unite the three Akyem states—Abuakwa, Kotoku, and Bosome.”

Justice Oppong further reinforced the importance of the traditional institution, reminding all present that “chieftaincy is a revered institution protected by the constitution,” and reiterating the collective responsibility of all chiefs and queen mothers to collaborate diligently for the district’s overall progress.

The launch marks a significant step towards a more cohesive and development-focused future for the Akyemansa District, with its traditional leaders committing to a shared vision of progress through unity.
