CEO calls for greater support towards community development

By Nana Kwame Essel

Twifo Nfantifum (C/R), Nov. 07, GNA – Mr Daniel Blay, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DANBICOM Foundation, has called on individuals and NGOs to support an ongoing community development effort in the Twifo- Hemang-Lower-Denkyira District of the Central Region to aid growth.

He said many communities within the district still lacked essential infrastructure such as school blocks, improved roads, clinics, and access to clean water.

Mr Blay has therefore urged NGOs, including those operating outside the district, to extend their support to help improve living conditions for residents.

He made the appeal during the commissioning of ten new boreholes his Foundation had sunk for five communities including Twifo Bakonidi, Nfantifum, Amoza and the Tafrewoa Community based Health Planning and Services ((CHPS) Compound in the District.

Mrs Esi Agyeiwaa, a midwife at the Tafrewoa CHPS Compound, praised Mr Blay for his generosity and commitment.

She further appealed for additional support, noting that the facility urgently needed items such as labour beds and nurses’ quarters.

She explained that the CHPS Compound operates with only one bed, yet served about five communities, including residents from the neighbouring Wassa East District.

Community members also expressed their gratitude to the CEO of DANBICOM Foundation and recounted the challenges they endured before the Foundation’s intervention.
