The Paramount Chief of the Atebubu Traditional Area, Ohempon Dr Yeboah Asiamah, has urged all Bono people to draw inspiration and strength from their rich ancestral heritage as they pursue unity and sustainable development.

Ohempon Dr Yeboah Asiamah made the appeal in a goodwill message delivered at the Grand Durbar of the 2025 Munufie Yam Festival of the chiefs and people of Suma Ahenkro in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region.

Ohempon Dr Yeboah Asiamah praised the people of Suma Ahenkro for preserving their cultural heritage, describing the festival as more than a celebration of harvest but an affirmation of identity, unity, and a call to transform our vast potential into tangible

development.

“The chosen theme: “Retracing Ancestral Footprints, Galloping into Progress” speaks directly to our shared heritage as Bono people. It reminds us that while our ancestors blazed trails of courage, unity, and cultural pride, it is our duty to build upon those legacies with vision and determination. To retrace their footprints is to honour their sacrifices; to gallop into progress

is to ensure that the next generation inherits not just stories, but systems of opportunity and prosperity”.

He commended the chiefs and people of Suma Ahenkro for their commitment to tradition, noting that cultural celebrations play a vital role in fostering peace and collective progress across Bono land.

“As the Paramount Chief of Atebubu and a son of Bono, I rejoice with Suma in this moment of cultural pride and thanksgiving. Festivals such as this do more than celebrate the harvest, they reaffirm our identity, deepen our unity, and inspire us to transform our vast potential into tangible development”.

Ohempon Dr Yeboah Asiamah concluded his address with a rallying call for unity among the Bono people, urging them to set aside divisions and work together toward collective progress, emphasising that true development can only be achieved when the people remain united in purpose and proud of their shared heritage.
