Debibi United continued their fine form with form with a come from behind win over KAC Soccer Academy on Saturday.
Leslie Aryeetey opened the scoring for KAC Soccer Academy in the 36th minute, but Kwadwo Antwi restored parity for the hosts just four minutes before halftime. Asamoah Eugene sealed the comeback with a stunning strike in the 71st minute to hand Debibi United all three points.
The 2-1 win extended their unbeaten run in Zone One B to five games and notching an impressive four-game winning streak. They sit at the top of the table with 13 points after five matches.
Elsewhere, Real Tamale United (RTU) came from a goal down to record an impressive 3-2 away win over city rivals Northern City at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Sunday. Dennis Nti Sarkodie put the hosts ahead in the 6th minute, but RTU quickly leveled through Rahim Akanta’s brilliant finish ten minutes later. Douglas Boateng’s own goal in the 57th minute gave RTU the lead, before Abdul Basit Lamale extended it to 3-1 from the penalty spot in the 76th minute. Isaac Acheampong pulled one back for Northern City in the 85th minute, but it proved only a consolation.
The win lifts RTU to the top of the Zone One A standings with 11 points, overtaking Tamale City.
Still in the Zone, Tamale City maintained their unbeaten start to the Access Bank Division One League season with a 2-1 away victory over new entrants Sankara Nationals at Yendi. The result ended the hosts’ impressive three-game winning streak in their debut campaign.
Mohammed Musah was the hero for Tamale City, netting a quick brace within six minutes — first in the 20th minute and again in the 26th — before Sylvester Biyandal scored a late consolation for Sankara Nationals in stoppage time. Mohammed Musah was deservedly named Player of the Match, as Tamale City secured back-to-back league wins for the first time this season.
