Fans of Evangelist Patricia Asiedua, widely known as Nana Agradaa, have been hit with disappointment after the Ghana Prisons Service refuted claims that she is being given preferential treatment at Nsawam Prison, where she is serving a 15-year jail sentence.
Rumors had spread suggesting that Agradaa was enjoying certain privileges behind bars due to her fame, but the Ghana Prisons Service has clarified that the reports are entirely false.
Public Relations Officer Adamu Latif, speaking to Smart TV, dismissed the allegations, stating that all prisoners are treated the same. “That is not true,” he said firmly. “Our prisons face overcrowding challenges. No inmate has access to any special place or comfort.”
He elaborated that every prisoner undergoes the same process from medical checks to cell placement before joining the general prison community. “We don’t classify prisoners by their social status, religion, or background. Everyone is treated equally,” he added.
The clarification has disappointed some of Agradaa’s followers, who had hoped she was receiving better treatment because of her past role as a spiritual leader. The Ghana Prisons Service reiterated that all inmates live under identical conditions and urged the public to disregard false information circulating online about Agradaa’s stay in prison.
