Ghanaian-American singer and songwriter, Moliy
Ghanaian-American singer and songwriter, Moliy Ama Montgomery popularly known as Moliy has recounted a motivating piece of advice she got from American singer, Tyler.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM on October 23, 2025, Moliy was asked if she had learned a thing or two from working with Tyler and she disclosed that Tyler encouraged her to `fake it till you make it’.
According to her, that’s a phrase that inspired her to stay confident and composed while building her career.
“I got one piece of advice from her. Because when I met her, I’m like Tyler, I saw your blow up. I saw how it feels like everything happened and it just feels like you were ready” she said.
Ghana’s Moliy lands international milestone
She explained that she was impressed by Tyler’s rise to fame and her ability to maintain an authentic and confident presence despite the fast-paced nature of the music industry.
“Because you saw the song blow up and I think in this age of music blowing up on TikTok, like you see an artist and then the song is good, but it’s like what’s following. I think she’s managed to really create like a catalog of music that people fully love, even her presence on stage and like her aura in an interview” she shared.
Moliy stated that she found it remarkable that Tyler appeared so prepared for stardom and wanted to know how she managed it.
“I think it’s rare to see an artist like totally just pop out of nowhere and just have all those things in the bag. So I’m like how? Like this is beautiful to watch, it feels like you were ready when this happened and she’s like baby just fake it till you make it” she added.
