Adopt Innovative Approach to Safety- Deputy Interior Minister

Delivering the keynote address at the 2025 Ghana Security and Safety Conference and Expo held at the University of Ghana, the Deputy Minister for the Interior, Hon. Ebenezer Okletey Terlarbi urged stakeholders in Ghana’s security and safety sectors have to adopt innovative and collaborative approaches to address evolving security challenges.

The conference, themed “Innovating for Safety: Strengthening National Preparedness Against Emerging Threats,” brought together public and private sector leaders, innovators, and advocates to discuss strategies for strengthening Ghana’s security landscape.

Hon. Terlarbi emphasised the need for a unified and proactive response to emerging threats, including cybercrime, climate-induced disasters, public health crises, and transnational terrorism. He noted that technology offers unprecedented tools to enhance security and emergency response capabilities, citing examples such as drones, surveillance systems, and cybersecurity frameworks.

The Deputy Minister reiterated the Ministry of the Interior’s commitment to modernising its approaches, investing in training, and adopting innovative tools to enhance effectiveness.

He urged all stakeholders to seize the moment to invest in innovation, strengthen partnerships, and demonstrate through their actions that Ghana is a secure, stable, and forward-looking nation.
