Abronye DC, whose real name is Kwame Baffoe, has ignited heated debate after making controversial remarks about the late Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah during an appearance on Ohia TV. He claimed that Omane Boamah’s spirit would remain unsettled until confronting NDC Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah.
The comments reference allegations that Asiedu Nketiah declared during the NDC’s 2024 campaign that the party was ready to “shed blood” to reclaim power. Abronye argued that such rhetoric is spiritually dangerous and may have indirectly influenced the helicopter crash in Adansi Akrofuom that killed Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Deputy National Security Coordinator Muniru Mohammed, and other military personnel.
“When politicians talk about shedding blood for power, there are consequences,” Abronye said. “Omane Boamah’s spirit will not rest until Asiedu Nketiah answers for his words.”
The tragedy occurred while the officials were heading to launch an anti-illegal mining campaign. Abronye’s statements have been criticized by some political and religious leaders for being insensitive during national mourning, though his supporters argue that he is highlighting the spiritual impact of inflammatory political speech.
Asiedu Nketiah has not publicly addressed the allegations but recently visited Omane Boamah’s family to pay his respects. The incident has sparked renewed debate over the responsibility of political leaders, the influence of public statements, and the possible spiritual consequences of political actions, reflecting ongoing tensions in Ghana around morality, leadership, and accountability.
