I’ll contest for NDC National Chairman if… – Nii Lantey Vanderpuye

National Coordinator of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, has expressed his readiness to contest for the National Chairmanship of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) — but only if the current Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, decides not to seek re-election.

Speaking on Face to Face on Tuesday, the former Odododiodio MP said his decision to enter the race would depend entirely on Asiedu Nketia’s next political move.

“If the current Chairman, my very good brother Johnson Asiedu Nketia, is not contesting, I will contest.”

Mr. Vanderpuye’s comments come amid reports that Asiedu Nketia is considering contesting in the NDC’s presidential primaries ahead of the 2028 general elections.

The development has sparked renewed interest within the party about potential successors to the experienced party stalwart, who has served in various leadership capacities for decades.
