Akosua Manu is a special aide to former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia
Akosua Manu, a special aide to former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has touted him (Dr Bawumia) as the most qualified candidate to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) back to power in 2028.
In a recent post on her Facebook, Manu described Bawumia as a “tested, proven, and prepared” leader, emphasising his readiness to deliver results.
“Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has gone through the sacred furnace of leadership,” she wrote.
“He has been tested by time, by trials, by the tongues of critics, and by the burden of leadership. Yet he remains—unbroken, unbent, and unbought,” she added.
In a report by citinewsroom.com on October 21, 2025, the former Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Youth Authority (NYA) described Dr Bawumia as a leader who confronts challenges directly, turns obstacles into opportunities, and consistently demonstrates a vision grounded in service.
Manu reflected on Bawumia’s journey, emphasising his resilience, integrity, and innovative approach as qualities that set him apart from other contenders.
She further described his life and career as an embodiment of “divine quality control—a process through which time, trials, and truth separate true leaders from pretenders.”
She stressed the fact that Dr Bawumia can transform challenges into opportunities, portraying him as a visionary leader dedicated to serving the nation.
“When others sought power for pride, he sought it for purpose. When others spoke to be heard, he spoke to be understood. When others complained about Ghana’s challenges, he devised solutions,” she stated.
Manu credited Bawumia with championing Ghana’s digital transformation agenda, which has modernised systems across public institutions and enhanced transparency and efficiency in governance.
She urged NPP delegates to reflect deeply as they prepare to select a flagbearer on January 31, 2026, stressing that the task before them goes beyond slogans and sentiments.
“The 2028 mission will not be about who shouts the loudest; it will be about who has been prepared, refined, and approved by both time and truth. That man is Dr Mahamudu Bawumia—a man of intellect, humility, faith, and focus,” she wrote.
Her remarks contribute to the momentum surrounding Dr Bawumia’s leadership narrative, positioning him as a reliable choice for the upcoming electoral cycle, as several aspirants intensify their campaigns for the party’s flagbearer position.
She rallied party members and citizens alike to recognise the significance of this moment and support a leader who embodies discipline, depth, and dedication to national service.
“The destiny of Ghana deserves nothing less than a leader who has been tested, proven, and prepared to deliver,” she added.
As the NPP gears up for its presidential primary in January 2026, Manu’s endorsement reflects a strong belief in Bawumia’s ability to navigate the political landscape and secure victory.
