Female student of Prevailing Academy has alleged that the headmaster has sexually abused her
Within the past two months, there have been multiple reports of inappropriate relationships between educators and students in various schools across Ghana, despite strict Ghana Education Service (GES) regulations prohibiting such conducts.
Many have described these incidents as acts of sexual abuse by the teachers, an alarming canker the Ministry of Education is striving to curb.
Currently, two headteachers are under investigation and have been removed from their positions following allegations of sexual misconduct.
These educators were reportedly caught on camera engaging in intimate acts with students within school premises.
In one shocking instance, a headteacher was allegedly captured having sex with a student in his office.

KNUST Assistant Headteacher captured fondling a student on campus
The Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of KNUST Senior High School, Charles Akwasi Aidoo, has been removed from office following the circulation of a viral video on social media allegedly showing him fondling a female student’s breasts.
In a statement issued by the Ghana Education Service (GES) on September 29, 2025, the management of the school said it had taken the matter seriously and acted swiftly to safeguard the integrity of the teaching profession and ensure the welfare of students.

According to the statement, Aidoo has been prohibited from accessing the school while investigations are ongoing into the allegations.
“The management of GES is committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all schools. Any act that compromises the safety and dignity of students will not be tolerated,” the statement emphasised.
Okadjakrom SHTS teacher interdicted over sexual misconduct video
The GES has also interdicted a teacher at Okadjakrom Senior High Technical School after a viral video surfaced showing him in an alleged sexually compromising situation with a female student.
In a statement dated October 2, 2025, the service confirmed that it had taken note of the video allegedly involving Mfo Richard Tibetor, a teacher at the school located in the Jasikan Municipality of the Oti Region.
“The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has taken note of a disturbing video circulating on social media allegedly involving Mr Mfo Richard Tibetor in an act of sexual misconduct with a female student,” the statement said.
Okadjakrom SHTS teacher interdicted by GES over alleged sexual misconduct
The GES described the conduct as “unacceptable, unethical, and a clear violation of the professional code of conduct for teachers.”
It assured parents, guardians, and the public of its commitment to student safety, stating that any teacher found culpable would face the full rigours of the law.
“The safety and protection of all students remain our topmost priority. Any act that compromises their dignity and well-being will be dealt with decisively,” it added.
The service reiterated that appropriate disciplinary measures would be applied in accordance with its code of conduct to maintain a safe and credible learning environment.
Shama Headmaster arrested for impregnating a JHS student
In another disturbing case, the Headmaster of Prevailing Academy in the Shama District of the Western Region, Isaac Dunkwa, has been arrested for allegedly impregnating a final-year Junior High School student.
The news, reported on Monday, October 20, 2025, stated that Dunkwa allegedly attempted to conceal the incident by persuading a male student to take responsibility for the pregnancy to avoid legal consequences.
“I was called by the headteacher to come to his house one Saturday. He told me there was a serious issue he had impregnated a girl and asked me to claim responsibility so the matter could be settled privately.
“Later, I called the girl’s family, and her father invited me to his house. I later heard the teacher had been arrested at the Sekondi Police Station. He was later granted bail,” the JHS graduate revealed in a video.
The female student further alleged that the headteacher, who had sexually abused her on several occasions, later attempted to abort the pregnancy.

“He took me to a pharmacy and got some drugs. He asked me to swallow some and insert others,” she recounted in the video.
