President John Dramani Mahama will on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, embark on a one-day working visit to the Western Region as part of his administration’s development and accountability tour.
A statement issued by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Western Regional Communications Bureau and signed by its Communications Officer, Richard Kirk-Mensah, confirmed the visit.
During the tour, President Mahama will cut the sod for the long-awaited Sekondi-Takoradi to Cape Coast dual carriageway project — a flagship component of the government’s “Big Push” infrastructure agenda designed to enhance trade, transport, and regional connectivity.
“The transformative project will significantly boost economic activities and improve travel between the Western and Central Regions,” the statement noted.
The President is also expected to inspect ongoing health projects, including the expansion of the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital and other key facilities, underscoring his administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure across the region.
