Head Coach of Kpando Heart of Lions, Bashir Hayford, says he is focused on improving his side’s finishing as they look to rediscover their scoring touch in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.

The Lions have gone two matches without finding the back of the net — a situation that has worried fans — but the experienced tactician remains calm and confident of a turnaround.

“(Lack of) goal scoring does not mean the players are not good,” Hayford told the club’s website. “We are going to concentrate on how to score because in the two matches we have played, we haven’t scored.”

He assured supporters that the team would approach every fixture with determination, regardless of their opponents’ recent form.

“When we come to your backyard, we won’t consider whether you’ve been losing or conceding goals,” he said. “Nobody plays a match expecting to lose — we are going to win and come back.”

Hayford also revealed that three of his players are currently nursing injuries, but insisted that the team’s depth gives him confidence.

“We have three boys still recovering, but hopefully they’ll be back next week. I’m not worried because that’s why we registered 30 players — if one is unavailable, someone else will step in,” he added.
