Obuasi East holds vigil for late NADMO Deputy Director Samuel Aboagye

The Obuasi East Constituency held a solemn vigil in honour of the late Deputy Director General of the National Disaster and Management Organisation (NADMO), Samuel Aboagye.

He was one of eight individuals who tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofrom on August 6, 2025.

The vigil, which took place on the eve of his final funeral rites, brought together a cross-section of the community, including the Obuasi East Municipal Chief Executive, Adzowu Kofi William, constituency executives, family members, and sympathizers who gathered to pay their last respects.

Also in attendance was Council of State Member and former Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Betty Mould-Iddrisu, who joined the mourners to honour the memory of the late Aboagye.

The family has announced that the final funeral rites will be held today in Obuasi.

Samuel Aboagye is remembered as a dedicated individual whose sudden passing has left a deep void in both his community and family.

Meanwhile, the other victims included Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, and Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Alhaji Limuna Muniru Mohammed.

The remaining were Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, National Democratic Congress (NDC) Vice Chairman Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
