The Bank of Ghana has lifted the suspension of the Foreign Exchange Trading Licence of United Bank for Africa (UBA) Ghana Limited, effective October 19, 2025.

In a statement issued on Friday, October 17, the Central Bank said the decision follows UBA’s full compliance with the conditions of the suspension and the implementation of corrective measures, which have been reviewed and found satisfactory.

The Bank of Ghana reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the integrity of the foreign exchange market, stressing that all licensed participants must operate in strict adherence to the Foreign Exchange Act, 2006 (Act 723), and other applicable regulatory guidelines.

It further assured that it will continue to monitor the operations of market participants to ensure transparency, accountability, and stability within the forex market.
