Saddick Adams is unpeturbed by criticims about Eddie Nketiah’s reportage
Sports journalist Saddick Adams has descended on individuals criticising him for reporting that Crystal Palace striker Eddie Nketiah is open to playing for the Black Stars after Ghana’s qualification to the World Cup.
Saddick Adams reported that the player is interested in joining the Black Stars, despite previously rejecting the opportunity after the team qualified for the 2026 World Cup.
The news was met with strong criticisms from football fans who felt it was unnecessary for the journalist to share the decision publicly, given Nketiah’s past disregard for the national team.

In response to the backlash, the Angel FM presenter argued that the criticisms were unwarranted, stating he was simply doing his job by relaying the information to the public.
Adams explained that he cannot prevent Nketiah’s family from making their stance known, just as he reported in 2019 when the player declined the opportunity to join the Black Stars.
“I didn’t see the need to respond to any of those reactions to the Eddie Nketiah story because I felt most of them were quite immature and, as usual, emotional. You’re questioning a journalist for reporting that a player we’ve chased for years now says he’s ready to play? What properly trained journalist would say, ‘I won’t report it’? You can criticise if I had given an opinion that he should be called up. But a report?
“Is it my responsibility to advise his family to stay quiet? Is it my job to tell him he won’t be allowed? Is it my responsibility to call him up? No. My job is to report the news, fairly and accurately just as I did in 2019 when he said he wouldn’t come. Fans being emotional is understandable, but some opinions are just too dumb, to be honest,” he wrote on X on October 17, 2025.
