Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called for a respectful and united campaign as the party prepares to elect its next presidential candidate.
Speaking to delegates in the Sene East Constituency on Wednesday, October 15, Dr. Bawumia said he is committed to a campaign based on ideas, not insults.
“I am someone who loves unity, so when I am campaigning, I don’t speak against anyone. I don’t mention anyone’s name. I don’t insult anyone. I only share my ideas with you,” he said.
Dr. Bawumia urged his supporters and team members to follow the same approach and avoid personal attacks, warning that insults could damage relationships needed after the primaries.
“If you insult someone and later ask for the person’s help after the elections, will the person come? So I want to tell those communicating for me to be careful and not insult anyone,” he added.
He assured delegates that if elected as the party’s flagbearer, he would unite all aspirants to work together toward victory in the 2028 general election.
