Even though they will lose, Bryan Acheampong holds NPP’s future – Kojo Adu-Asare

Former Member of Parliament for Adentan, Kojo Adu-Asare, says that although the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is unlikely to win the 2028 general elections, the future of the party lies in the hands of Bryan Acheampong.

Speaking in an interview on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr. Adu-Asare said the NPP currently needs strong leadership to rebuild its unity and credibility.

He believes Kwabena Agyepong is best suited to lead the party at this stage, while Bryan Acheampong represents the NPP’s long-term future.

“Bryan holds the future for the NPP. The NDC is not going to lose the elections in 2028; the NPP should forget about winning. My first choice for them, in order to strengthen the party, is Kwabena Agyapong. They need someone like Kwabena Agyapong at this time.

“They won’t win unless they work on unifying their party, and it needs to be on a strong pedestal for the future, which is where I see Bryan Acheampong playing a key role. These two, Agyapong and Acheampong, are the ones I believe will help them,” he said.

He added that the NDC is currently in a stronger position politically and is poised to retain power in 2028.

“The party is not in good shape right now, so they need someone who can bring them together, and I see that potential in Kwabena Agyapong, as well as in the future of Bryan Acheampong. Other candidates are in competition with each other, but I believe Kwabena Agyapong is the only aspirant genuinely doing politics.

“For now, they need him to unite the party. If Bryan aspires now, there are things that could harm his future prospects. It is clear that the NDC is performing well, so they will likely continue in government in 2028,” he said.
