The Ghana cedi has shown a strong performance on the foreign exchange market, appreciating against major world currencies such as the US dollar, British pound, and euro.
According to the latest exchange rates released by the Bank of Ghana for Tuesday, 14th October 2025, one US dollar is being bought at ¢11.8941 and sold at ¢11.9060. The British pound is being bought at ¢15.8583 and sold at ¢15.8754, while the euro is being bought at ¢13.7623 and sold at ¢13.7759.
This marks a notable improvement in the value of the cedi compared to recent weeks when it faced strong pressure from rising import demand and global market trends. Market watchers see this appreciation as a sign of renewed confidence in Ghana’s economy and the policies being implemented by the central bank to stabilize the currency.
If the trend continues, it could bring relief to importers, businesses, and consumers who have been dealing with high exchange rate costs. The Bank of Ghana continues to monitor the market closely to ensure stability and maintain investor confidence.
