‘No food, breaks, just books’

A.B.A. Fuseini, the father of the 2025 overall best Ghana School of Law graduate, Latifa Teiya Fuseini, has shared the struggle and preparation his daughter went through to win the prestigious award.

In an interview shared on X on October 13, 2025, A.B.A. Fuseini noted that his daughter could stay indoors for a whole week, glued to her books.

He reiterated that his daughter was eager to win the prestigious award, adding that Latifa would stay at home for a week or more, engrossed in her books without eating properly.

“It was one of the greatest days in my life… For me, it is about the contribution she would make to society. This one is for them to break the ceiling and go further.

“I am very confident she is going to come out better because many of our young girls at home look at her as a role model… I was just saying that in the run-up to this course, you would see her up to 2 A.M. She can stay in the house for 5 days or one week without going out,” he said.

When asked during the discussion if he anticipates his daughter having a career in politics, the former member of parliament noted that he doesn’t see her actively involved in politics.

“She doesn’t sound too political; she is more of the law and books. She likes books too much. I said three years ago, she was one of the first people from KNUST to come out with a first class,” he added.
