The solemn burial service, held on Friday, 10 October 2025, brought together a delegation led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, to honour the life and legacy of the distinguished scholar and clergyman.

Professor Amfo was accompanied by the Registrar, Mrs Emelia Agyei-Mensah; the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Rosina Kyerematen; the Dean of the School of Languages, Professor Josephine Dzahene-Quarshie; and the Director of Public Affairs, Dr (Mrs) Elizier Taiba Ameyaw-Buronyah, among other senior members of staff.

In a statement, the University extended its deepest condolences to the bereaved family, describing the late Professor Garbrah as “a towering figure whose contributions to academia and the Church will continue to inspire generations.”

“His life represents a bridge between the University’s humble beginnings and its current standing as a leading centre of learning on the continent,” the statement added.
