The FIFA President also commended the island nation’s investment and dedication to football growth, saying their qualification is a shining example of what determination and vision can achieve.

“Your work on football development in recent years has been incredible, and this is the moment your stars will become global and inspire a new generation of football lovers across Cape Verde. Congratulations,” he added.

Infantino also expressed excitement about seeing the Blue Sharks at the final tournament draw in Washington DC on December 5, where Cape Verde will learn their group-stage opponents.
