The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has announced that his outfit will work diligently with foreign governments to prevent visa challenges for Black Stars fans ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to him, the ministry has established strong diplomatic ties with the United States, Mexico, and Canada, and will liaise with their embassies to facilitate visas for Ghanaian football fans traveling to support the national team.

The Member of Parliament for the North Tongu constituency also disclosed that he will work to secure visa quotas for individuals approved by the government to accompany the team for the tournament.

In a post made on X on October 13, 2025, Ablakwa congratulated the Black Stars on their qualification and expressed pride in the team’s achievement on the global stage.

“Congratulations to the Black Stars on Ghana’s emphatic 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification. Ghanaians can be fully assured that the Foreign Ministry under my leadership shall leverage our improved cordial diplomatic relations with the United States, Canada, and Mexico to guarantee appreciable visa quotas for our globally acclaimed football fans. Ghana, here we come!” he wrote.

The Black Stars qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after topping Group I with 25 points.
