Labone in Ghana has been ranked among Time Out’s top 10 coolest neighborhoods in the world for 2025.

Taking 10th place in the rankings, Labone, a district of Accra and one of the city’s central hubs, has been described by Time Out as transitioning from what was once a “sleepy residential neighbourhood with not much more to offer than bungalows and mango trees” into a vibrant area that now offers much more.

According to Time Out’s rankings and report published on September 24, 2025, Labone was described as offering entertainment and relaxation not just for locals, but also for diasporans who call the area home, providing a “plethora of happy-hour pubs, galleries, wine bars, and high-end shops.”

Labone overtook major African cities like Linden in Johannesburg, which was ranked 17th, making them the only two African neighborhoods to feature on the list.
